Sorry, your browser doesn't support Java(tm). Barsta is a little fishing village who have become very popular among people who have caravans. Here is a restaurant and some rooms for rent and fish for sale. Up on the hill above the bay there is an old chapel.

Outside the harbor the high island of Barsta is situated as a defend. From here you can also go with boat to Högbonden.

The fishing along the coast of northern Sweden was before the mittle of 1700 belonging to the crown (state) and was giving as privilege to different towns in the middle of Sweden, first of all to Gävle.
The fishingmans of Gävle was going north during the summer and they were building harbors och chapels along the coast. Most of the chapels are built under the 1600 by the fishingmans of Gävle. Now here is fishing mostly for recreation.

Here you can see the little fishing village, the
camping and the chapel up on the hill.

A boat who have done all have got flowers as
a reward.
